Wow what a fabulous field trip we just went on. The 5th Graders went to Louisiana Tech in Ruston La. Our first stop was to the snack shack for a wonderful meal::::
Then it was off to the Idea Place---inside they learned about all kinds of fun science experiments. Two of the favorite things they did was 1. You know the scooters that are popular where you get on them and your weight sort of like controls the direction you go? Well the kids sat in a chair and held a turning wheel. What ever way they turned the wheel decided which way the chair turned.
2. The next fun thing was the activity table. There they learned how to make a cloud in a bottle, make a fire tornado, make snow, and make a rocket ( the kids had a blast and was able to go home and tell their siblings they could make a bomb???? rocket)

We were not able to take pictures at our next stop to the planitarium but I did manage one picture of them in the seats preparing for the show. We watched a movie about going to the moon and we took a space ride.
We then went back to the snack shack and ate a little snack before heading back home. I can't tell you what a great time we had. Only 33 kids were able to go. A month before they signed up and could not have any infractions, name on the board, office referrels etc. At first I was concerned about this because lots of kids don't get to go on field trips, but wow what an awesome bunch of kids got to go. I have never seen such well behaved kids. What a joy and pleasure it was to experience such a rewarding trip. the following is the group of kids that went.
